OVERVIEW: WYNN Wizard is a powerful piece of literacy software most commonly used by organizations, such as schools. WYNN Wizard can scan any text, document, or book and convert it into a digital text file. WYNN reads aloud digital texts, such as those scanned in, Word documents, text files, PDF files, and internet sites, while visually tracking by highlighting each word as it is read. This would help students to follow along. In addition, students can adjust reading speed, pause time, font size, line spacing, and language. All digital texts uploaded to WYNN can be highlighted and saved for later.
Students in upper elementary school can use WYNN's tools to learn and practice active reading strategies that increase engagement, fluency, and comprehension. The Find tool allows students to search for any word or phrase within a text. The Dictionary tool allows students to use the cursor to highlight any word and WYNN will read and show the word and its definition. It also provides a list of synonyms. The "Spell Word" feature reads a chosen word, spells it, and repeats the word again. Students and teachers can also use one or both of the provided note options. Text notes and Voice Notes can be neatly added to the text and read aloud to students. These note scan help focus students reading and can be added in an individualized manner for each student.
